Separate retail stock from service-use stock
Products sold directly to customers and products consumed while providing a service behave differently. Both need records, but the reason they leave the shelf is not the same.
Record movement when it happens
The easiest stock record is the one created at the same time as the sale or service. Delayed updates create forgotten usage and inaccurate balances.
Set practical low-stock points
Do not wait until an item reaches zero. Decide the minimum quantity that gives enough time to reorder without interrupting service.
Watch what earns, not only what moves
A fast-moving product can still have a weak margin. Review revenue, gross profit and units sold together.
Owner question: Which products are running out, which ones are barely moving, and which ones are actually contributing profit?
